- Spread the saltine crackers out in a single layer on the above-prepared baking sheet. Try to avoid any overlapping.
- Take a medium saucepan to melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat on the stovetop. Now bring to a boil, adjust the heat, and let it continue to boil for exactly 5 minutes with continuous stirring.
- Quickly pour the above mixture over the crackers and spread to cover all over evenly.
- Now bake for another 5 minutes (minimum) in the oven. The crackers will finally expand slightly and shift around a little.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let's wait for 1-2 minutes until the chocolate chips look shiny and bright.
- Once the chocolate begins to look shiny and dazzle, use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate over the toffee smoothly.
- Let it cool down completely in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours for the candy to harden up.
